If you are having a Halloween party, you want your home to be as clean as it can. One room you should start with is the kitchen. Below are two things you should clean in this room so you can start planning your party.

Tile Flooring

If your kitchen has tile flooring that is dirty, this can make your entire kitchen look bad. Tile flooring can be difficult to clean especially if the grout is dirty. First, clean the tiles with a tile cleaner. Steam cleaning also works well if you have this on hand. Once the tiles are clean you need to concentrate on the grout. Grout is made of a mixture of cement and sand, and some also include polymers, like latex, to make the grout more resistant to stains. 

The best thing to clean grout with is hot water. Put hot water in a spray bottle and spray it on the grout lines, and then use a grout brush or a stiff brush to scrub the grout to remove dirt and grime. Use a rag to blot the moisture and let the grout completely dry. Do this one tile at a time until you are finished.

If you do not have time to clean the grout, you can hire a service that does tile and grout cleaning. They have the proper tools, such as a steam cleaner, and cleaners to get your grout completely clean. When they are done, ask them for some tips on keeping your tiles and grout clean and maintenance that you can do.

Wood Cabinets

If your kitchen wood cabinets are older, they likely have a lot of built-up grime and dirt on them. This is especially true for any cabinets that are near the stove as grease and oil from food that you cook can get on these cabinets. 

Put 50/50 solution of warm water and vinegar into a spray bottle. Spray the solution on your cabinets and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Wipe the cabinet with a soft, clean cloth. 

If your cabinets have a lot of grease and grime, liquid dishwashing detergent can help. Add a few drops of this into the vinegar and water spray bottle and mix. This added cleaner will help get the grease and grime off. Do it in the same way by spraying, and then letting it sit for a few minutes. 

There are other things you should clean in your kitchen before your party, such as inside your refrigerator and microwave, the kitchen sink, and the walls.
